NYC Living: February

Updated: Mar 28, 2022

While January always feels like a drag post holidays, February flies by. If you're a New Yorker, you might agree that when the weather doesn't feel like freezing temps or there's no snow, nothing is off limits. I was out and about more, tried new restaurants and partook in new experiences. Below is a recap of (almost) everything I did in Feb 💕

TO EAT
La Grande Boucherie: Located at 145 W 53rd St, New York, NY 10019
(Top row of images) This is the biggest of the Boucherie restaurants in Manhattan. It's an elegant Parisian-styled space with high-end food and cocktail options.

Shuka: Located at 38 MacDougal St, New York, NY 10012
(Middle row of images) This restaurant has Mediterranean cuisine and it was delicious. It was a great mix of a trendy vibe, strong cocktails and yummy food.

Jack's Wife Freda: Located at 116 8th Ave, New York, NY 10011 (also in Soho and the West Village)
(Third row of images) I've seen this restaurant pop up on my TikTok a few times and was finally tempted to check it out. I went for brunch and the food is a mix of Israeli and South African cuisine. I wasn't sure what to expect going in but from the photos I saw ahead of time, it looked really good. The place was packed around brunch and I'm pretty sure every table had a Bloody Mary on it. This became one of my new brunch spots!

Lovely Day: Located at 196 Elizabeth St, New York, NY 10012
(Last image on third row) This low-key Thai restaurant is a hidden gem in Nolita. It's a dimly-lit space with floral wallpaper and red booths that give off a homey feel to it - not to mention the food is flavorful, comforting and very budget-friendly.

Oxalis: Located at 791 Washington Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11238
(Last row of images) I don't go to Brooklyn often, but this restaurant has been on my radar for a while now. It got its first Michelin star a couple years ago and I love that it's not a super notable place. They have a unique selection of drinks and small upscale plating. It sounds super basic to say, but their homemade bread & sea salt butter on the menu is to die for!!

TO DO
Public Hotel: Located at 215 Chrystie St, New York, NY 10002
This location is constantly blowing up on Instagram and it's been on my list to check it out. My husband and I prefer to celebrate Valentine's day before the actual date, so we had a little staycation and stayed at the hotel for a night. The hotel is trendy and chic and the rooms offer beautiful city views.

Brooklyn Museum: Located at 200 Eastern Pkwy, Brooklyn, NY 11238
I went to the Christian Dior exhibit on the very last day and was blown away. The history, couture collection and illusion the exhibit had to offer was stunning. Above are some of my favorite pieces from the exhibit.
