As we all know and have experienced first-hand, this year's travel plans have been put on hold. I know personally that I had several trips planned that will now have to wait until 2021 (and beyond.) However, just because we can't fly to Europe and picnic next to the Eiffel Tower, doesn't mean we can't explore - we just have to get creative and find new places to see - locally.
I think it is incredibly important to remember that 'travel' can be just as much fun even within just a few miles of your hometown. There's always something new you can be doing instead of staying indoors!
**This will not only mean a fun weekend or day trip for you, but you will be supporting local business' which is really important this year as so many are struggling financially and need our help.**
Just remember, if you are planning on traveling, even locally, do so safely. Be sure to bring your mask and stay 6 feet from others. If you do decide to bring a travel buddy along, make sure they're being respectful of your health and boundaries too. I would not recommend driving for 8 hours with a friend who has been a bit careless and has NOT been wearing their mask regularly. Even though they seem healthy, they may be sick and not showing symptoms. It's important to be wise and find a respectful / like-minded travel pal to join you.
In addition to finding someone to go with you [or planning your solo trip], there are some other important pieces to this travel puzzle to keep in mind. What are the safest ways to have fun? What should you bring with you on the journey? Where can I go?
