A Weekend in San Diego, CA

I was recently in San Diego with two of my girlfriends and it was one of the best girl's weekends I've had in a while. The combination of sunny weather, ocean breeze, spicy margs and laughter made up for the perfect weekend. 🌞🌴🌊🍸

Below is a list of places you can visit and dine if you're in San Diego for a quick weekend.

TO DO

Besides eating and drinking (which we did a lot of), we also ventured out and did a lot of walking around and exploring different beaches. One of the most popular areas in San Diego is the La Jolla Cove, where you can watch beautiful sunsets and get up close and personal with the seals. If you're in that area, there's a lot of local vendors and restaurants with outdoor seating to take in the views.

Since we were there for a quick weekend, we rented a car for the day and drove up to Laguna Beach 🚗 (we may or may not have blasted 'Come Clean' by Hillary Duff reliving the Laguna Beach intro). The drive was about an hour and half with some traffic and we drove along route 101 which allows you to drive alongside the coast and drive through truly adorable towns.

We also stopped for lunch in Newport Beach (see restaurant info below) and walked around Lido Marina Village, which is filled with super cute boutiques as well as more notable stores (ehem, Stony Clover Lane and Love Shack Fancy) as well as numerous restaurants.

TO EAT & DRINK

Better Buzz Coffee: There are multiple locations throughout San Diego.

This is a great morning spot for coffee and açaí bowls!

Herringbone La Jolla: Located at 7837 Herschel Ave, La Jolla, CA 92037.

This was one of the best meals I had in San Diego. I would describe this as an upscale seafood and meat restaurant with super fresh ingredients. The atmosphere is really chic and trendy with brick walls and trees planted throughout the restaurant. It definitely gave off a SoHo vibe. The cocktails are delicious and the service was really good as well.

La Valencia Hotel: Located at 1132 Prospect St, La Jolla, CA 92037.

Dubbed as the 'Pink Hotel' on the hill, this place is perfect for sunsets and happy hour. It's a beautiful mediterranean build with beachfront views.

Malibu Farm Lido: Located at 3420 Via Oporto #101, Newport Beach, CA 92663.

We took a day road trip up to Laguna Beach and decided to drive up a little more north to Newport Beach to eat at Malibu Farm. It's an indoor/outdoor farm-to-table type restaurant with waterfront views. If you're ever in the area, this place is definitely worth the stop.

Mavericks Beach Club: Located at 860 Garnet Avenue, Pacific Beach, San Diego, CA 92109.

Think of an upscale indoor/outdoor sports bar on steroids. The space is massive with lots to do. Towards the back, there's another set of doors that you have to get through for the 'club' part. There's palm trees, good cocktails and disco balls - what's not to love?

Miss B's Coconut Club: Located at 3704 Mission Blvd, San Diego, CA 92109.

We ate here for lunch and it was the perfect first meal in Cali. I ordered a bloody mary and coconut shrimp and everything was really good.
